August 3, 1492 Christopher Columbus was sent to find and claim land for Spain. He landed on America.
in 1519 Pineda sailed to Mexico to find a safer water route to Asia. Pineda claimed alot of land for Spain and he named the Rio Grande and he was the first person to see the coast of Texas
in 1519 Cortes was sent from spain and sailed to Mexico, but he disobeyed the rulers of spain and went to the aztecs and killed Montezuma. He conquered the aztecs and made spain very rich.
La Salle was a french explorer from Canada, in 1648 he claimed Texas (tejas) for France and he got killed from his own men.then the Spanish became interested in Texas
1528 Cabeza de Vaca and his men shipwrecked on Galveston and they got captured by the Gulf Indians and taken as slaves for 8 years.when he got back to Mexico (New Spain) he told everyone about the city of gold.
in 1540 Cornado was sent from Spain to find more riches but him and his men discovered the Grand canyon, the Pacific ocean, and Kansas.he was sadly a failure to the Spanish because he didn't find any riches.
