Storyboard Text

  • What if?
  • ?
  • Now I understand!
  • All matter is made of atoms, atoms are indivisible and indestructible, all atoms of a given element are identical in mass and properties, compounds are formed by a combination of two or more different kinds of atoms.
  • In 1803, John Dalton started thinking in a similar way as Democritus. He thought that there was a limit for splitting an object, it wasn't going to split forever.
  • I also discovered that a chemical reaction is a rearrangement of atoms, atoms of different elements have different weights and different chemical properties and can combine in simple whole numbers to form compounds. This is amazing.
  • His ideas were very based on Democritus because he read most of his books which contained his ideas.
  • After doing experiments, he discovered new thing with the help of new technologies and also mentioned some thinkings from Democritus.
  • He continues having more and more ideas.
  • His atomic model was based on his theory about different atoms forming compounds. He thought the atom was a ball-like structure.
