  • Tip #3. Make sure you put colons and semi-colons in the right spot.
  • My teacher told me I have terrible grammar when writing. Can you give me a couple tips?
  • Of course I can, Ryan! Let's go inside and chat!
  • It lacks punctuation and the reader can get confused.
  • Tip #1. Run on sentences, are sentences with 2 or more independent clauses are conjoined without a conjunction.
  • Thank you! My teacher gave me a zero for the run-on assignment. I had no clue what I was doing.
  • Tip #2. Don't use sentence fragments. Fragments include, a subject, verb, and a complete idea. Words like when, although, if, after, are subordinating conjunctions.
  • When using subordinating conjunctions, always finish the idea.
  • My sentences weren't making sense. I think it was because I never finished the idea. I put periods in between my thoughts.
  • I've been using those wrong this whole time!
  • Give me an example of 1 tip!
  • Instead of saying, "I love school, I love learning, my teacher is nice."
  • I can fix the run-on sentence by saying, "I love school and learning, and my teacher is nice!"
  • Glad I could help you and give some special tips when writing! Go back to school and show your teacher what you got!
  • Thank you for all the information you taught me. I learned a lot!
  • Semicolons can be used between two independent clauses. Colons are used to refer to a list, phrase, or quotation.
