Storyboard Text

  • Hello, my name is Stefani and today we are going to talk about three different kinds of rocks. Igneous rocks, sedimentary rocks, and metamorphic rocks. Let's go!
  • Let's talk about sedimentary rocks first.Sedimentary rocks form when sediments under go deposition, burial, compaction, and cementatcion. Just like these ones right here, they are all compacted together.
  • And now we are at a volcano! Which is usually where you can find the next the next type of rock we are going to talk about which is an Igneous rock.
  • Like this rock here, it WAS once magma, but over time it dried up and became an igneous rock. How these rocks form is whenever magma goes through solidification.
  • The next rock we are going to talk about is a metamorphic rock. like this one next to my leg. Metamorphic rocks form whenever a sedimentary rock goes through heat, pressure, and metamorphism.
  • Now that i am back in my room i am going to completely explain the rock cycle. The rock cycle starts off with magma, the magma then goes through solidification and becomes an igneous rock, then the igneous rock undergoes weathering(uplift) and erosion and it becomes a sediment, then that goes through deposition, burial, compaction, and cementation, and becomes a sedimentary rock, then that rock goes through heat, pressure, and metamorphism and becomes a metamorphic rock
