Storyboard Text

  • Miss Terious, I am afraid that you may have Trichomoniasis.
  • Oh no! What is that?
  • Trichomoniasis, or "Trich" for short, is an STD caused by the protozoan parasite called Trichomoniasis vaginalis. This parasite passes from an infected person to an uninfected person during sex.
  • Wow, I've never even heard of that
  • It's more common than you may think, as 3.7 million people in the US are believed to have it. Although this infection is more common in women than men, you should still tell your partner to get tested, as there is a pretty good chance you gave it to him.
  • This can happen to all ages, but it is most common between the ages of 16 and 35, so you are in the perfect age range to get it.
  • Where can this infection occur?
  • Typically an infection of the urogenital tract, it usually occurs in the urethra in men and vagina in women.
  • Thanks for your help!
