  • In 1665, I (Robert Hooke) discovered that cells were the basic unit of life
  •   In 1838, I (Matthias Schleiden) discovered that all plants are made of cells
  •  In 1839, I (Theodore Schwann) discovered that all animal cells are made of cell
  • I (Rudolf Virchow) am a German Physician who studied cell reproduction
  • In conculsion, the cell theory is:  1.  All living things are composed of cell 2. Cells are basic units of structure and function in living things 3. New cells are produced from existing cells
