  • WW1 ends. US is victorious.
  • Yes, Victory! The war is finally over.
  • The US not joining the League of Nations.
  • We will not join this League of Nations or whatever you call it!
  • Limits on Immigration
  • Why can't I come here???
  • After WW1, we declined to joined the League of Nations. Soon after all of this, we had a Great Depression.
  • Goals of Europe VS. Goals of U.S.
  • Well, we want to stay away from world affairs so we will remain in isolationism.
  • The character is saying straight up the United States would not be joining the League of Nations. We did not join because we wanted to remain in isolationism after losing plenty of men after the war.
  • U.S became Pacifists
  • We will not use war to solve our issues!
  • The immigrant is being denied entrance to the U.S. Many wanted to seek better economic opportunity in our country but we passed the Immigration Act of 1924, which limited the number of immigrants allowed to enter.
  • U.S Puts Up Tariffs
  • We will now be raising the tariffs to clear up debt.
  • Europeans wanted to increase their conquered territory and expand their culture while the US wanted to stay out of conflict and stay out of the idea of imperialism.
  • We want to expand our territory and imperialize.
  • The United States became pacifists and decided they would not use war as a way to solve conflicts with other nations.
  • Tariffs, which were taxes on imported or exported goods, were raised in the United States. They were raised in effort to pay off debt after WW1.
