  • Mexico let people settle in their land, but they had 4 rules. The american's, that Steven F. Austin brought in, thought their rules where outrageous, and didn't follow them, later they took action and tried to break away
  • Remember the Alamo
  • In 1835, Mexican General Antonio Lopez de Santa took an army to Texas to punish the rebels. He arrived in 1836 to find a small Texan force barricaded inside the Alamo
  • The Lone Star State
  • For 13 days the Texans held off Santa Anna's army. On March 6, they fired a cannon at the walls, they soon fell, and the defenders of the Alamo were defeated.
  • Clear them all out, but take the women and children that hostile and let them go
  • In those 13 days the defenders of the Alamo held them off, it gave the Texans enough time to gather troops and supplies. On April 21, the Texans launched an attack on Santa Anna, with more than 1300, as they attacked they shouted ''Remember the Alamo"
