The girl in the picture is named Celie and she is 14. The man in brown is Mr.______ and he is going to take Celie and marry her. The man is blue is Celie's father and he is giving her away like she is property.
Celie is forced to clean and cook and take care of all Mr. ______'s children. The boy in brown is Mrs. ______'s oldest son Harpo. He is so disrespectful and believes that women need to do all he work.
Celie's sister Nettie had lived with them before and then Mr. _____ kicked her out because she didn't love him back. She went away and lived with two missionary people: Samuel and Corrine. It turns out that Samuel and Corrine are the adoptive parents to the children Celie had when her father raped her. These are letters that Nettie had sent Celie and it turns out that Mr. _____ had kept them from Celie for a long time. When she found them, she cried and she hated Mr. _____.
The woman in green is Corrine and the woman in red is Nettie. Corrine is angry because she thinks that Nettie is the mother of her children and that Samuel is the father. Samuel explains the story of how he got his children and Nettie comes to find out that their "Pa" is not actually their Pa. She sends Celie a letter and Celie goes to see him.
Celie decides to go to the North with three of her friends. Shug, Grady and Squeak. There she finds her passion is making pants. She makes a lot of pairs of pants and then sends them back to her hometown for her friends and family.
In the end of the book, Nettie returns to Celie with both of her children. Celie is so grateful that she begins to write to God again
