Storyboard Text

  • In Britain... The British were not quite exactly in favor of the war. In fact, they were deeply troubled for the amount of losses lately...
  • We shall come to ends with America...
  • about considering John Burgoyne in charge?
  • But first, we need a plan... a counterattack to be more specific...
  • ...Retreat!!
  • During the war...
  • Surrender your weapons! It's only a matter of time we win!
  • They have defeated us and we're short on numbers!
  • Then we must regroup and strengthen our defenses higher this time.
  • Ahhhhhhh!!
  • Unfortunately for the British, they had lost again against the Patriots. They were officially defeated.
  • This was very important because it convinced the French to give the U.S. military support. It lifted American spirits, ended the British threat in New England by taking control of the Hudson River, and, most importantly, showed the French that the Americans had the potential to beat their enemy, Great Britain. The Battle of Saratoga affected the American Revolution as another turning point. It gave the Patriots a major morale boost and persuaded the French, Spanish and Dutch to join their cause against a mutual rival.
