We shouldn'a done that tonight, scout
He He, Jem's color blind.
Jem loses his pants in the Radley yard and wants to get them back. Scout is arguing saying he shouldn't go get them. Jem finally is understanding right from wrong especially when it comes to Boo Radley. This is the first time in the book that shows that Jem is maturing.
Because Jem broke Ms. Dubose's bushes his punishment is to read to her. This is the first time that Jem is really getting a reinforcement and not just a threat.
Jem is now 12. He thinks that Scout's games and ways are stupid and childish. He is beginning to become a teenager. This is one of the time that Jem doesn't like what Scout is doing. This time he doesn't say anything but many other times he lashes back at Scout.
