  • During the 1700s there was conflict between Britain and France over ownership of the Ohio River Valley. To dishearten the British from claiming the Ohio River Valley the French built Fort Duquesne. Angered by the fort, governor of Virginia, Robert Dinwiddie, entrusted George Washington to lead colonial troops to evict the French.

  • Vastly outnumbered by the British forces, at first the French were defeated, but then they were forced Washington to surrender when the French and Indians counterattacked. This served as a commencement of the French and Indian War, that spread all across the world.
  • WE SURRENDER!
  • In 1755 British and colonial forces overwhelmed two French forts near Nova Scotia.
  • Shame! I have failed my people.
  • The British's victories plumetted when General Braddock marched ointo a French and Indian ambush. Washington led a retreat that saved the army.
  • Peace and victory at last.
  • The British won many battles all over the world. The Treaty of Paris ended the war for the British.
  • There was till tension between the British and Idians and French. The French wanted somethjing in return for all of their work, lost men, and blood.
