  • In July 1940, Hitler made a plan he believed would help him win WW2 and to bring Britain to agree to a negotiated peace settlement
  • He decided to attack Britain by first making an air and sea blockade, using his Luftwaffe to attack ships carrying supplies as well as shipping centers and ports
  • He wanted to crush the British, by destroying their fighter planes, factories, and supplies, so that they were unable to fight back
  • He also began to target British cities because he wanted to destroy the moral of the British people
  • But Hitler’s plan didn’t work because he underestimated the British air force. They were able to fight off Hitler’s Luftwaffe
  • The British army made a radar that even furthered their strength because the radar could tell the direction, distance, and speed of objects, even unseen ones
