Storyboard Text

  • Girl, what do you know about the forms of communications
  • Well... For starters there are two forms: verbal and non-verbal
  • Are these forms so different from each other?
  • They are different but we use them everyday sometimes without even realizing
  • Verbal communication is oral and written language. Typically, humans communicate by speaking or writing. However, reading and listening are also forms of verbal communication.
  • AWWWWHH... That's proxemics at play! We can tell they are in love. Look how close he is to her!
  • Other forms of non-verbal communication include vocalics or paralanguage which is the use of volume, tone, rate, pitch. There is also artifacts. These are items, such as jewelry, clothing which can tell a lot about a person. The way a person uses time, or chronemics, can communicate attitude or status. Body language such as gestures and facial expression are also important.
  • Thank you so much for the walk and the clarification. Now I must work on my vocalics and proxemics as I explain to mom where I have been so long!
  • I'm sure you will think of something...
