  • She had to work from an early age while her siblings were sold her mother had about 14.
  • Sojourner and her brother were sold separately and Sojourner was sold to a man named John Neely.
  • She was sold from John Neely then sold again to a man named John Dumont for $300.
  • She wanted to marry another man but he was at another place and so she had to marry a man named Robert.
  • She had 5 kids.
  • She ran away in 1826.
  • Her son was sold illegally and Sojourner won the court case and her son was free.
  • Sojourner went on to give speeches.
  • She went on to meet Abraham Lincoln.
  • She made a book.
  • Sojourner died on November 26, 1883.
