  • When the hurlyburly's done, When the battle's lost and won.
  • That will be ere the set of sun.
  •  Of kerns and gallowglasses is supplied;And fortune, on his damned quarrel smiling,Show'd like a rebel's whore: but all's too weak:For brave Macbeth—well he deserves that name—Disdaining fortune, with his brandish'd steel,Which smoked with bloody execution,Like valor's minion2 carved out his passage The multiplying villanies of nature Do swarm  upon him—from the western isles
  • Art thou not, fatal vision, sensibleTo feeling as to sight?
  • The witches are plotting a hurlyburly (foul plan). This is important to set the tone of the story.

  • They are holding a supper for the death of the king 
  • Macbeth has a feeling that he is being betrayed for the thrown
