  • The battle of Bunker Hill 
  • Battle of Yorktown
  • Shay's Rebellion 
  • The battle of Bunker Hill was fought on June 17, 1775 in the early stages of the American Revolution. The British won and it was the first great battle of the American war. 
  • Bill of rights 
  • The battle of Yorktown was started on September 28, 1781. Cornwallis surrendered to Washington as French and American trapped the British at Yorktown.  
  • The Judiciary Act of 1789
  • Shay's Rebellion was started on August 31, 1786 and it was a surprise armed uprising. It was in protest against economic and civil rights injustices. 
  • John Adams elected president 1796
  • Thomas Jefferson- Democratic Republican 
  • John Adams- Federalist 
  • They are the first 10 amendments to the US constitution. They were written by James Madison and they list the prohibitions of the governments power.  
  • This act established the Judicial Courts of the US. George Washington signed it into law on september 24, 1789. 
  • John Adams was a federalist. This election was the first major political contest between the Republicans and the Federalists.
