Odysseus thought up a plan. He would build a wooden horse with the help of the other warriors and then put 23 other warriors in it plus himself. Then, he would tell the others to get on their ships, burn the camp and sail out of sight. Hopufully the Trojans would come on the beach and roll the horse into the town where the Greeks would get out of the horse and then then help the others in.
The other warriors got on the ships, burned the camp, and sailed out of view where they would wait for the signal and to see if the plan had worked
The Trojans walked onto the beach where the Greeks had set up camp. They were very surprised to see that the ships were gone, the camp was burned, and all that was left was a giant wooden horse.
They proposed they would build a large wooden horse and that they where gonna fill it with the bravest men. They persuaded the Trojans that this was an offering to the gods that the Greeks had left when they sailed away.
The Trojans put the wooden horse inside the gates thinking it was safe. The brave men who were hiding inside came out when it was safe and started a fire. They ransacked the city, looted the riches, butchered men and boys, and enslaved the children and women.
They sailed back across the dark sea, but most all failed to reach home.
