Here Atticus is telling the kids why not to shoot mockingbirds. This shows symbolism because mockingbirds don't do anything but make music. The mocking bird also represents innocence.
The mad dog is a symbol throughout the book because it represents everything that Atticus has to fight for.
Tom Robinson is symbol because after his trail Maycomb County begins to see how bad racism is.
