Fred passes on the Jingle Jangle to Jughead's mother. But instead of giving her the drug itself, he gives it to her in the form of a paint thinner. She seems confused at the appearance of the drug but later realizes it is Jingle Jangle after sniffing it.
Jughead's mother passes the Jingle Jangle onto another South Side Serpent to infest the whole valley. Jughead's mother wants to spread this drug to the North Side to have complete control of everyone while they're high. After one of the serpents took the drug, he became very dizzy with slurred speech.
Even though he was dizzy, he still managed to pass on the drug to a North side student. While exchanging the drug, he noticed a girl in a wedding dress who was hysterically crying. You'd think she was left at the altar but, she was in the process of dying from Jingle Jangle and passed out in the front of the hospital where she later died.
With the drug continuing to pass on and corrupt the town of Riverdale, not many of the victims understood the long term effects of the inhalants such as liver/kidney damage, hearing loss, and bone marrow damage.
Many more victims continued dying from the drug because no one bothered to heed the warning of the effects. Deaths became more than inhaling themselves to feel high, more of the drug cases became a suicide death of overdosing on the inhalant itself.
Some victims started dying within minutes of inhaling the drug. This cause of death became known as sudden sniffling death. Also, some victims also started having seizures. The outbreak of this drug finally stopped when a death striked the Cooper home and killed the beloved Betty Cooper.
