It is 1922 and archaeologist Howard Carter has found a tomb. When he opened the tomb he became the first person in 3000 years to look at the sarcophagus of King Tut.
Oh my gosh! The tomb of King Tut! I'm going to be famous!
After Carter had found the tomb, he had his team spend three weeks looking through the tomb to see the treasure inside. There were many artifacts, gold and sculptures from centuries ago. There were flowers so old (five centuries) that they disintegrated in front of him when they touched the air.
FUN FACT: King Tut was actually Pharaoh for a short time. King Tut became Pharaoh when he was eight and died when he was eight-teen.
In the tomb the most amazing artifact was King Tut's mask. It was super expensive and could have been sold for for a lot of money. It was made of 24 pounds of solid gold! That's a lot! The mask also had some valuable stone called lapis lazuli. They are still as blue as when it was found in 1922!
That must have been really expensive! I could have sold that! I would be rich!
