Shays rebellion : Money debt , sadness , and loss 1786

The Revolutionary War ended with a lot of people in war debt. Due to this the continental congress and government imposed poll taxes , making the poor farmers unable to pay for their land and belongings, they were taxed of them

Farmers in Western Massachusetts organized their resistance plan. Farmers held meetings for the people that wanted to protest and agree on a fair plan. This made the rebels close courts by force in 1786 and liberate imprisoned debtors from jail.
this caused a revolt when the protestors became under the leadership of Daniel Shay

James Bowdoin, the government of Massachusetts made a military force to confront the rebels. This armed force ended the movement in 1787 as the "Shaysites" lost against a strong army made by the state. While the rebellion went away quickly, the social forces that overcome dramatic action remained.

Governor Bowdoin acted boldly with ending the rebellion, the voters turned against him during the election. The high level of resistance in many states threatened the political notions of many political and social elites. Shays rebellion ended after national leaders were shocked about the results of the occurance.
