  • Japanese Colonization/Imperialism
  • U.S. Steel Oil Embargo on Japan
  • Pearl Harbor, Hawaii and the Surprise Attack
  • Japan started attack other countries like Korea, China, and Okinawa. They did this because they wanted the material these countries had, and colonized them along the way.
  • The Japanese Were Relocated
  • After repeatedly asking Japan to stop attacking the other nations, the U.S. froze Japan's assets, like steel and oil. This would hopefully prevent Japan from attacking the other nations.
  • F.D.R. a Date that Will Live in Infamy
  • 'A date which will live in infamy,'
  • On December 7th, 1941, Japan attacked a U.S. naval base in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii unprovoked. They did this because they hoped it would prevent the U.S. from interfering with their military actions in Asia.
  • America Declared War on Japan
  • After the attack on Pearl Harbor, the Japanese-Americans in Hawaii were relocated the Japanese-Internment camps. The Japanese-Americans had to stay there until the war was over.
  • F. D. R. gave a speech after the Pearl Harbor attack. He was also the one to order that the Japanese-Americans be relocated.
  • America declared war on Japan and joined WWII. After this, America even destroyed two Japanese cities with nuclear bombs.
