The crew had made it to a land that is dominated by cannibal cyclopes.
Odysseus and his crew had found a local cyclops' home
The cyclops returns home
Odysseus and his crew had stumbled upon an island while traveling home. Odysseus decides that they should explore the land they have traveled to before setting off back to sea.
Odysseus comes up with a plan
While Odysseus and his men were searching the land and what it contains they seem to find a home that is inside of a cave. When they inter the cave they find that the cave is filled with food, which they had feasted upon. When they were all finished Odysseus had said they should stay since where he was from the owner would give his "guests" presents.
Odysseus and his remaining men escape the cyclops' wrath by riding on the bellys of rams
The owner of the cave seems to have come back and noticed Odysseus and his men and not at a good time either the cyclops looks very hungry. The cyclops had picked up two of the men and ate them bones and all right before Odysseus and the remaining men,
Odysseus and his remaining men escape the island
Odysseus had made a plan to get the cyclops intoxicated with some very strong wine he had brought, tell him that Odysseus' name is nobody, and then stab him in the eye with a big wooden stake, making the cyclops blind, so they could make an escape without being seen. The plan had worked and when the other cyclops had asked the cyclops that had been hurt what was wrong he replied "nobody is hurting me".
Odysseus and his surviving men escape the cyclops' cave by riding on the underneath of rams.
The plan to use the rams for an escape had worked and now Odysseus and his men had set off again. The cyclops notices the taunts that Odysseus is making and in a blind rage throws a rock at them but it misses just by a couple inches but this doesn't stop Odysseus. Odysseus taunts the giant even more and even tells him his true name which the cyclops uses to pray to Poseidon to make sure that Odysseus doesn't make it home.
