My parents were super worried after my surgery because I was in pain. Which I was, but I was also on some strong pain meds so I was mostly sleeping. My mom thought this surgery was the worst thing ever because she only saw the bad, not the good that would come out of it.
After 4 days I got to the point where Dr. Cronen thought I was ready to go home. So i had my drainage removed, had my IV Taken out, and was sent home that afternoon. It was a painful car ride home, but I was so happy to be home!
I was so glad to see my dog again! I also was able to sleep without being interrupted by nurses. I didn't eat for around a week and a half, and I had to have my parents do EVERYTHING for me, but glad the worst was over.
Around 3 months after I got home, I was almost completely back to normal, and only suffered from occasional back spasms from my "new back". Through this experience I learned how strong I am, how much my family loves me, and I gained 4 inches in height.
Now I'm 19, and its been 7 years since my surgery! I am completely back to normal, and I have no complications!
