During the Jazz period of the 1920s, many of the upper class would love to party. These parties would be long and also contain a lot of alcohol. There was a period which prohibition was in play. This made the consumption of alcohol illegal. Meaning only the richer people could get their hands on it.
Fitzgerald and his wife Zelda lived a very intense life. They came from different backgrounds. Fitzgerald held her back to his jealousy which caused alcohol fueled fights. As well being unfaithful to each other which caused more intense drinking.
Music was one of the main things during the Jazz Era. It was a cultural movement where new styles of music came out and also dancing started becoming popular.
Gangsters played a major role in organized crime. Some major things that came along with organized crime were, Graft, Extortion, and prostitution. Gangsters also had a major role to do with the illegal liquor traffic that took place. They also held speakeasy's which were secret bars to consume drinks.
Prohibition made the consumption of alcohol illegal. It was considered a ¨moral triumph¨ during this time period of the rural middle class. But the law didn't stop the higher class at all. It was still obtained with a certain price, and as well gave a rise for gangsters.
During the 1920s the fashion of this time period were shorter dresses and revealed more, this style was mainly put on by woman of this period called ¨Flappers.¨ They also had bobbed hair styles and wore a lot of bright colors. Men mainly wore suits where they usually dressed really nice on all occasions. But men started to wear athletic clothing for the first time in the late 1920s.
