Pearl Harbor was attacked on December 7, 1941 that set off a chain of events for the US involvement into World War II. Also it heightened the racial tensions with Japanese Americans in the US.
Executive Order 9006, signed by FDR ten weeks after the bombing at Pearl Harbor, made it so that they could remove people from military areas. Home to a lot of Japanese Americans, they make the west coast a military area and relocate them to internment camps.
People in internment camps were live in poor conditions and they were not reated fairly. In Amache which was in Colorado, the wheather would get down to -25 degrees fahrenheit in the winters.
