  • Pearl Harbor was attacked on December 7, 1941 that set off a chain of events for the US involvement into World War II. Also it heightened the racial tensions with Japanese Americans in the US.
  • Executive Order 9006, signed by FDR ten weeks after the bombing at Pearl Harbor, made it so that they could remove people from military areas. Home to a lot of Japanese Americans, they make the west coast a military area and relocate them to internment camps.
  • People in internment camps were live in poor conditions and they were not reated fairly. In Amache which was in Colorado, the wheather would get down to -25 degrees fahrenheit in the winters.
