Hey dad, today in Environmental Chemistry we learned about elements on the periodic table. My favorite was Magnesium.
That sounds very interesting son, can you tell me a little bit about Magnesium?
It is symbolized by the name MG,it is a Alkaline Earth Metal, Magnesium was found by Joseph Black in 1755, but it was later isolated by Sir Humphry Davy in 1808 and he came up with different mixtures to make out of it such as Magnesium Oxide. He also gave it the name Magnium.
That sounds pretty interesting, I have to ask you. What are some compounds used in Magnesium, and how is it used in our everyday life?
The oxide, hydroxide, chloride, carbonate, and sulfate are used in the making of Magnesium. It can be used in our everyday life, for example plants use Magnesium to build chlorophyll molecules.
Wow that is very interesting, it seems like you have learned a lot today son.
