  • "Frederick Douglass had a hard childhood, his mother died when he was young  and was a body servant . "
  • "One day Frederick met a free black women who agreed to help him escape . On  September 3 1838 Frederick escaped and declared himself free.
  • And then he married the women that helped him escape and started a family and got a job as orator at the Anti-Slavery association 
  • " But to avoid being re-enslaved he had to travel over seas and when he thought  it  was safe he relocated his family to Rochester, New York "
  • That is when he took his work in another direction and embraced the womens wrigth movement .
  • On day he had a heart attack before a speech at a church . Frederick later died that day at the age of 77. And his words still continue to shape the way we think of Race, Democracy the meaning of Freedom .
