  • Back then, African-American slaves used to deel with a deep sorrow because of their hard lives and the back-breaking work they had to do on a daily basis.
  • African American Music
  • They sang the blues since the late 19th century to let off steem and not give up.
  • The blues was mainly about their deep melancholy and sadness.
  • Singing in the fields, churches or even at home helped them cope with horrible lifestyle.
  • During the 20th century, segregation and racial discrimination against black people was present in most public places such as schools, buses and restaurants.
  • African Americans couldn't sit in the front and had to leave their sit for a white person to have it.
  • Which means I shouldn't be here...
  • In the 60's, they demonstrated in the streets and mostly asked for equal rights.
  • FREEEDOM! EQUALITY!
  • In the 70's, black people from the Bronx weren't allowed into disco clubs but still wanted to have fun, and guess wha they did?
  • They created their own as an act of rebelion. It gave birth to Hip-Hop, a whole culture that evolved a lot and that includes RAP, DJing, grafiti and way more! But anyway, we're going to a concert now, guess the singer!
