A cutter was smoking even when told not too, but when finished he had not properly put it out. so it caused a fire.
The building owners were informed and so they escaped through the top floor while everybody else was panicking
People on the bottom floor had escaped quite easily, while the people who couldn't take a ride down the elevator or make it through the fire escape before it collapsed had to make a decision to jump out the windows or to become one with the fire.
A professer in the building nearby had seen what was happening and took the students up to the roof with a ladder to help the workers on the roof top, so one by one the students helped them cross buildings, almost everyone made it but one worker paniced after seeing the fire get closer, and jumpped off the roof.
They were charged with manslaughter, due to the fact that they owned the building, and locked the doors and some escape routes, and the unsafe enviorment, causing most of the deaths.
They were found not guilty even though they shouldve been, because the court couldn't prove that they had the keys to the doors, that we're locked.
