Storyboard Text

  • Hi, my name is Suhayl Khan and I'm going to show you how to make a smoke bomb, as well as explain the science concepts behind it. I'd also like to prove to you that smoke bombs are not all visual fx.
  • Here's what you'll need
  • • Ping Pong Balls (Or something to house you mixture) • A large mixing bowl • Pan • Sugar •Potassium Nitrate • Scissors • Hot Glue • Tissue Paper (fuse)
  • First of all, cut a ping pong ball in half and make a small hole for a fuse.
  • Introduction
  • Pour 1 and 1/2 cups of Potassium Nitrate and 1 cup of sugar into a mixing bowl and mix well. After mixing, place the mixture onto a pan and apply low heat. Make sure to stir with a spoon. Once mixture has caramalised remove from heat.
  • What you'll need
  • Pour the mixture into one of the 1/2s of the ping pong and stick a fuse inside it. Make a hole in the other 1/2 of the ping pong big enough for the fuse to fit through. Pour some mixture into the second half BUT do not fill completely, otherwise their will be no room for the fuse. Allow the mixture to cool. After it has cooled, glue the 2 1/2s back together with the fuse sticking out.
  • Step 1
  • Quick! Use the smoke bomb to escape the gun fire!
  • Step 2
  • Step 3
  • Your Smoke Bomb is now ready! NOTE: This step is ment for testing on hard surfaces, away from any flammable material. DO NOT test with gunfire or quick evade situations. The reaction will release carbon dioxide, water vapour, nitrogen gas and potassium carbonate.
