  • Cassius and Brutus plan to kill Caesar but Brutus would rather gain power in a different way than killing a man.
  • Catastrophe
  • Caesar's death was one catastrophe so far in the play because it ended one strong ruling.
  • Dramatic Irony
  • Caesar is warned by the Soothsayer of the upcoming trouble Caesar will face but he is skeptical about it.
  • A foil is a character that has characteristics that oppose another character, usually the protagonist.
  • Soliloquy
  • The point at which the circumstances overcome the central motive, introducing the close or conclusion.
  • Invective
  • Cicero used harsh language in order to try and ruin Antony's reputation.
  • The irony that is in speeches or a situation of a drama and is understood by the audience but not grasped by the characters in the play.
  • Anachronism
  • A soliliquy is when a character is speaking his or her own thoughts as if to himself.
  • Brutus walked in his orchard back and forth about whether or not the decision of killing Caesar is a good idea.
  • Invectives are harsh and abusive language used within a play.
  • Anachronisms are words that do not fit into the time period that a play is taking place in.
