One day a shepherd found little Oedipus bound by his feet and decided to take him to Thebes.
The shepherd gave Oedipus to a messenger, for him to raise as his own. Oedipus grew up to be king, killing his dad and marrying his mother. He saved the city of Thebes from the Sphinx's riddle and is know looked upon to save them from the plague.
A blind prophet, Tiresias tells Oedipus he is the one in the prophecy. Later on in the story the shepherd tells Oedipus everything and his mother finds out and hangs herself while Oedipus gouges his eyes out in disgust.
