  • On February 14, 14 73, Nicolaus Copernicus was born in Torun, Poland. 
  • Our son will do great things! 
  • Copernicus's father died when he was 10 years old. His mother is believed to have predeceased his father
  • From 1491 to 1503, Copernicus attended the Jagiellonian University, the University of Bologna, the University of Padua and the University of Ferrara.
  • So much studying!
  • In circa 1508, Nicolaus Copernicus started developing his own model based off his theory of a heliocentric solar system.
  • In 1514, Copernicus published his heliocentric findings and math calculations as proof of those findings in a book called the Commentariolus.
  • Copernicus died May 21, 1543 and was buried near the Archcathedral Basilica of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Andrew. This cathedral is located in Frombork, Poland.
