"I'll explain it all, just follow me."
"Harper, you see, you're what's known as an orbiter. An orbiter has the abilities to shift planets and change them to your liking."
The creature loomed over my head, it's teeth baring as a growl escaped from it's throat. It looked at me as if I was the meal it had been waiting it's whole life for yet, it didn't make another step towards me. My mind was racing with what to do or how to escape, but before I could make a choice on what to do, a recognizable shadow stepped out from beyond the trees. Of course it was him. Great. Cole casually strutted over to us obviously not in any surprise about the creature near us and pulled a sword out of the air and struck the monster with a clang.
The creature disappeared in a wave of smoke and ashes until it was no more. I stood there staring astounded at Cole who had just demolished this mythical beast in front me. He nodded at me and then just told me to follow him back to his house and he'd explain everything. At first, I declined but as a rumble vibrated my feet just like earlier today, I quickly took up Cole's offer. I had to know the answer to all these weird happenings. We jogged out of the lot and all the way through my torn up city until we reached Cole's house.
Once we reached Cole's house, we quietly snuck into his house and the second he shut his door, I burst out with millions of questions that I desperately needed answers to. Cole laughed and then began to tell me that I was different than others. I was this thing called an orbiter. I had the power to shift planets and change them however I wanted. I was still very confused but, when I tried to ask Cole how he he even knew all this, he went mute. Realizing I wasn't going to get the answer I wanted, I awkwardly let myself out, said goodbye, and sprinted all the way home.
The next morning, I woke up feeling like last night was all a dream but, for some reason I knew it was real. I bounded out of bed and out of my house as fast as I could. I had to see Cole. The sky was an ashy grey and the sun was hidden behind dark clouds. I ran so fast that everything was a blur around me and my eyes were stinging from the air biting them. As I turned down his street, I ran head-on into Cole's chest and tackled him forcefully onto the dust covered asphalt ground with an smack.
Cole groaned from the impact of my body and then flipped me underneath him as a yellow, chubby frog-looking thing hopped over us. It had floppy whiskers, mega cherry red eyes, and a large belly. My face flamed as Cole pulled me off the ground and darted around pointing to various, monstrous creatures hanging from lampposts, soaring through the sky, and hurdling over cars down the street. I looked at him in fear and before I could breathe, he grasped my hand and pulled me all the way into his house.
The second we got inside, I screamed at him and demanded he'd tell me what was happening. Cole's face showed an emotion that I had never seen before. Fear.
