- Those elites living in comfort don't know true hard work. While they sit around, we have to work hard only to sell the crops for cheap. It's unfair how they can just raise prices and reap the benefits. Now I'm trapped in a cycle of debt.
- How about we form an alliance. As long as we stick together we can ensure our stability.
- I agree. We are stronger together. Lets advocate for unlimited coinage of silver. This will raise prices for crops and make paying debts easier.
- The populist party formed largely due to farmers gained foothold in state legislature. Though they were not as big as the democrats and republicans they were still had large impact on laws.
- The populist party nominated democrat William Jennings Bryan and he delivered the speech "Cross of Gold".
- Bryan led to the downfall of the populist party. The conservative faction of the democrats were not happy with Bryan and defected to the republicans. The republicans ended up winning the election and the populist party would disintegrate.
