When Romulus and Remus were born, their father ordered them to be drowned. However, a she-wolf and a woodpecker nurtured them in a cave on the side of a hill. Later, they were found by a farmer.
once the boys were older, they helped lead a coup against Amulius.
Suspecting their true identities, Amulius had Remus captured and held in Alba Longa.
the two ousted Amulius and restored their grandfather, Numitor, to the throne. Backed up by their grandfather, the two set out to found a city on the hills where they were found.
The twins could not decide on which hill to set their city, so they agreed to let the gods decide.
Romulus, enraged by his brother, murdered him. Romulus then founded Roma on the Palatine Hill.
