Storyboard Text

  • Do you bite your thumb at us, sir?
  • I do bite my thumb, sir.
  • God shield I should disturb devotion!— Juliet, on Thursday early will I rouse you. Till then, adieu, and keep this holy kiss.
  • What if it be a poison which the Friar Subtly hath ministered to have me dead, Lest in this marriage he should be dishonored Because he married me before to Romeo?
  • Sampson and Abraham are arguing, which intensifies the feud between the Capulets and the Montagues.
  • If ever you disturb our streets again, Your lives shall pay the forfeit of the peace
  • Paris flirts with Juliet and Juliet feels uncomfortable with Paris. They are going to marry next Thursday and Paris feels excited, while Juliet feels annoyed and tries to ignore Paris.
  • O Juliet, I already know thy grief. It strains me past the compass of my wits. I hear thou must, and nothing may prorogue it, On Thursday next be married to this County.
  • O, shut the door, and when thou hast done so, Come weep with me, past hope, past care, past help.
  • Juliet is afraid that Friar Lawrence is secretly trying to get rid of evidence of him remarrying Juliet through this potion. She has symptoms of these thoughts that she will be different after waking up from this potion.
  • O, if I [wake], shall I not be distraught, Environed with all these hideous fears, And madly play with my forefathers’ joints,...
  • Prince Escalus comes to end the fight that eventually happened with Sampson and Abraham. He states that if another feud happens, then their lives will pay the forfeit of the peace. This is an external conflict because it affects both families since they would be killed if another fight occurs.
  • Juliet complains to Friar Lawrence and asks for a solution for the marriage that is about to happen. This is an external conflict because there is more than two opposing sides, Juliet, Friar Lawrence, and Romeo and Paris with the other Capulets.
  • This is an internal conflict because it affects Juliet. This affects Juliet because she is unsure that the potion would either make her insane or would get her killed. She is lost in her thoughts, thus making it an internal conflict since she is conflicted on whether she wants to drink it or not.
