We need to go to the cervix. There are many obstacles though like the acid.
We need to push through, only the strong ones survive!
Millions of sperm first enter the vagina and are on their journey and mission to fertilize the egg. Many sperm fail this mission because less than one percent actually survive.
HEY! YOU GUYS NEED TO GET OUT OF HERE!
AHH! Oh NO! RUN!
Just keep going!
Once the sperm from the penis reach the vagina they have to protect themselves from the harmful acids that protect the vagina and stop sperm from going through more.
Now its time to go into the tube!
Yes! We finally made it! Were getting so close!
Then the sperm has to swim through the Cervical Canal and reach the Cervix. To then find the opening for the Uterus. This is where many sperm will die and not make it.
Implantation In The Uterus
Let's Go! We did it! We made it to the egg and now there is going to be a human!
Once the sperm swim to the Uterus, they are attacked by the acids called the flowback. Not many sperm make it out of the Uterus.
When the sperm is at the Fallopian tube, all it needs to do is swim up it. This will be very close to the end of its long journey through the Vagina and the sperm be able to be fertilized.
The sperm finally ends its journey and fertilizes the egg. Sperm will go into the egg and it will stop any other sperm from going in. The baby's sex and genes was decided when the sperm reached the egg through the Fallopian tube and it will now rest in the Uterus wall.
