Storyboard Text

  • An Igneous rock is a type of rock that is formed through the cooling and solidification of magma or lava.
  • What on Earth is an Igneous rock?
  • I used to be such a nice rock but weathering and erosion caused me my parts to wear away how does this happen?
  • You poor rock, erosion occurs when rocks and sediments are picked up and moved to another place by ice, water, wind or gravity
  • A fossil is any preserved remains from a living thing of the past geological age. Some examples of Fossils include bones, shells or stone imprints of animals like me.
  • We are both primary examples of animals that have been fossilized over time . When we die our body is washed away in a flood. Then buried in sediment like mud, minerals from the sediment then soak our bones and over a long period of time we become fossils
  • In the floor of my ocean Sedimentary rocks are formed when weathering and erosion break down a rock the lost materials are deposited to the ocean, where over a period of time they transform into Sedimentary rocks.
  • Metamorphic rocks form from heat and pressure changing the parent rock into a new rock. The type of rock can be sedimentary, igneous, or it can be another metamorphic rock. Heat and pressure can even change Metamorphic rocks into new types.
