The first phase was called phase 1. This phase was all about fish. British went to shore to dry their catch/fish. They traded with the First Nations. They traded fish. The fishers came from france, spain portchugeese and etc.
This land is for farming...i'm afraid you will have to leave. sorry!
The french fought (had a war)with the haudenosaunee because of its fur trade allies. The french dominated North America. Quebec city was where importing and exporting to france occured. French Oendat, Mi'kmaq, Innu& kichesipirini were all partners in the fur trade. The fur trade was central to the economy.
Phase 3-economic competition-In phase 3 the french and scottish Metis culture emerged because their terrain were similar. Anishinabe and coureur de bois worked for french. Cree and nakota worked for british and french. Britain established HBC in 1670.
Why the trade declined???
In the fourth phase the North west company took over the French trade Network. Farming pushed fur traders off of the land.
In the fifth phase in the year 1821 Britain ended the conflict by merging. the HBC and the NWC merged. The trade started to decline.
The HBC and NWC merged!!!
The reason the trade declined was because buffalo began to disappear. Beaver became scarce.
