The Scientific Revolution was a major part of the Enlightenment
During the Scientific Revolution, Scientist like me, Isaac Newton, Studied the natural world, changing the way people looked at the world around them.
Woman played a role in the Enlightenment as well.
Women during the Enlightenment, such as Madame Geoffrin led salons and helped support Philosophers. We also fought for equality with men in every aspect of life.
The Enlightenment was mainly about philosophers like the ones in the next 3 boxes.
My name is John Locke, I believed that people were not born good or evil, but their character was based on life experience, I also believed people had rights and if the government didn't project them that they could overthrow the government.
My name is Voltaire, I believed in freedom of speech and religion, unfortunately I was arrested.
My name is Baron de Montesquieu, I believed that in order for the government to be fair and non corrupt the powers should be separated, you can see this in Americas government today with the 3 branches.
