  • “My arms twisted behind me, pain searing up to my shoulders. He shoved me through the door through the door and slammed me to the ground.”(Kiely&Reynolds.22)
  • Outcome
  • When Rashad goes to the convenience store to get some snacks for himself. Then the cashier at the store says that he is stealing because Rashad has a bag in his hand. The police officer nearby, then tackles Rashad to the ground and badly injures him. This later leads to there family splitting up.
  • Initial Dialogue
  • “I GUESS WE R HAVIN A BBQ 2MMRW” (Kiely&Reynolds.73).
  • Rashad is trying to heal but his family is fighting over whose fault this is. Also, the family is having a hard time believing Rashad's story. This propels the action by creating a problem  
  • Propels the Action by...
  • This leads to this event getting publicity. Eventually, this got on the news and got justice for Rashad. The police officer was fired from his job for what he did to Rashad.
  • Outcome
  • Rashad's Quinn and Rashad see each other at this barbecue. This will help show Rashad, Quinn's point of view in this event. 
  • Quinn and Rashad go to the barbecue they both talk about their experiences in that situation. This is important because it helps the story go forward because it reunites two points of views from two different lifestyles. 
  • This all ends in a resolution of Quinn telling the police about his side of his story and Rashad becoming friends with Quinn. The story ends with hope of positive change.
