- Romans were taught the alphabet no matter how wealthy or how poor they were. All Romans were taught there native language, Latin.

- Roman law covered marriages, inheritances, contracts, and countless other aspects of daily life. Modern law codes in European countries, such as France and Italy, are partially based on Roman laws.
