Exposition- In the setting of Harrison B the year is 2081. True equality has been achieved and those who have stronger attributes than other are handicapped so everyone is the same.
Rising Action- Hazel and George are watching a ballet performance on their television. Even in entertainment, people are handicapped; the ballerinas wear masks and have weights attached to their shoulders. A urgent message comes across the performance announcing that Harrison Bergeron has escaped prison. They are told he outgrows handicaps faster than the H-G men can come up with them, and they are told not reason with him.
Climax- During the middle of the bulletin, Harrison bursts through the door tearing off his handicaps end saying "He is the emperor". He tells the ballerinas that whoever is brave enough to stand up shall be his emperor. After a while the most beautiful ballerina stands up, and he removes her handicaps. Then he and the ballerina begin to dance to the music made by the musicians
Falling Action-During the dance, Diana Glampers, the handicap general, runs out on to the stage holding a double barrel shotgun. She fires one shot at both Harrison and the ballerina killing them both. After that moment the Bergersons' television tube burns out.
Resolution- George had gone to the kitchen to get a beer while his son had been shot. He comes back to see Hazel crying and when he ask her why she is, she says she can't remember but something sad happened on the T.V. She trys to remember but to no avail while George has sound go off in his transmitter.
