The Pilgrims wanted religious freedom from the Chruch of England, once they were rejected, they set off on a voyage to Amsterdam.
The First Winter
The Pilgrims and the crew didn't get along so, they were only allowed above the tween deck once a day for about 30 minutes. This was rough, only seeing daylight for 30 minutes a day for two months.

On November 11, 1620, in Provincetown Harbor, the Pilgrims gathered together to sign the Mayflower Compact. The Mayflower Compact was the agreement that all individuals must follow the same laws, regardless of whom they are.
The First Thanksgiving
The first winter was a rough time for the Pilgrims. They were not used to the cold, and they didn't know how to survive. Over 40 of the 102 men that came over on the Mayflower died in the first winter.
