The respectable hen pecked a feather of hers and said as a joke that if she keeps peking her feathers, she would look better.
The bats pass the joke on and on
The hens sleep together for protection just because if something bad happens to one of them.
Five Hen pecking her feathers
The owls heard the hen joke and passed it on to the pigeons.
The bats got the story from the pigeons, then to other poultry-yards changing the original story.
Gossip reached back the respectable hen poultry-yard. It said now that five hens pecked their feathers and died of coldness and sickness. She didn't know that was her own story and even went to the newspaper to publish it.
