Storyboard Text

  • Okay, here I go!
  • Yeah, I'm ready!
  • Are you sure you want to do this?
  • Tim kicks the ball, which exerts an equal amount of force back on his foot.
  • The ball hits Spencer in the face while his face exerts the same force on the ball as it did on him.
  • Uh Oh...
  • Because now you have a very good idea of what Newton's third law of motion is.
  • Why didn't you tell me about Newton's third law of motion before I tried blocking the ball?
  • Tim and Spencer are at the park playing soccer on a hot summer day. Spencer thought it would be a good idea if he used his head to block the ball from entering the goal.
  • As Tim kicks the ball, it flies through the air and Tim blocks it with is head, not knowing about Newton's third law of motion: For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.
  • Spencer starts crying while Tim tells him about Newton's third law of motion to explain to him how the ball exerted force on his face.
