This is Mt. St. Helen's before the earthquake had occurred. everything was really beautiful.
Mt. St. Helen's had a lot of greenery and animals. There was people that would go out and do fun things out there. People also lived near there.
In May of 1980 the earthquake had occurred and it ruined so much. It killed 57 people and it killed so many species of animals like birds and deer.
This is what it looked like after. Everything was dead and there was no more green. People who thought were in safe places, were wrong because the outcome was that they ended up dying.
This is when primary succession started to occur. Primary succession is when everything starts to come back to life. It normally takes about a thousands years.
This is when everything started to look beautiful again. The greenery started to come back and the animals started to come as well.
